LISTENERS AND READERS

I never thought that I would be writing a heartfelt letter to my reader, but here I am, writing whatever comes to my mind. My morals, belief system, and learning can be different from many of you who are reading this now. But I am sure that by the end of this blog either you guys will connect with me, psychologically of course—who likes to talk nowadays; it’s difficult already—or close this blog and go back to your overthinking.

We are used to working so much that we do not let our minds rest. In the midst of all the chaos, it is also important to comprehend what goes on within and understand life in those minutes that pass by. I have noticed this thing over the past days or weeks: that people live in terms of upcoming hours, days, weeks, months, and years. But we often forgot that we should live as each minute goes by. The tug-of-war between what is and what is going to be is tough to understand. However, in between all of this, lies life untouched, unravelled, unexperienced, and unlived.

Our ancestors and elders have taught us so many things, but one of them is the importance of time. We live by time, not with it. It is something that has been grown in us. People have incessantly stuck on the future or the past, but every day works or survives in the present. That’s the sublimity of being human, always living in survival mode yet posting Instagram quotes like “Live in the Moment.” We are so used to survival that we forgot that today is the day we wished for 2 years ago. You have that house you wished for, yet you are worried about the taxes and expenses that follow. You have the car you wished for, yet you think about how to manage it, what color it will be, and who is going to sit in it. You wished for a doting, faithful, and determined partner, yet you are worried if it is the right time or not. It's a never-ending spiral of what-ifs, maybes, and what-if-nots. I, myself, do it a lot of times. But in those times when I go far in my thoughts and let it define my day. I take a pause and look around at who are not as good as where I am standing.

I always believed that life has a funny way of showing us who we are and what we lack on a daily basis. The universe will help you in every way to teach you every life skill: patience, teamwork, listening, silence, and attentiveness. It will help you reach where you want to be, yet we stumble upon what we do not have. What’s missing? It's tough to comprehend the positive when your negative is standing right in front of you. Looking beyond the dark and darker times is pivotal now more than ever. In Hindu mythology, I have read about how over time in Kalyug, negative will have more power over positive. That’s helped me understand that now we must look beyond what is there. I always believed life is beyond all the worries, sadness, frustration, and shortcomings we have today. It's about living in that minute or second that we have here.

During 25 years of my beautiful and legendary life and travel history, as far as I have seen, understood, and lived, I have cultivated this learning in me that being still in one moment is far better than going at the lightning speed of wrong decisions. Taking a pause in life to think about right or wrong for 5 minutes is better than those days when you think, "What if I took the decision I thought was right, not the one the other landed me in?" Making a harder and tougher right decision is better than an easier wrong one. I know that you are thinking, "What if the wrong one is tough and the right one is easier?" Speaking from experience, right decisions might be easier sometimes, but the implementation gives you a much harder time than before. Given this, I will tell you the decision that seems harder or riskier. Think about it if you take that decision. Will there be a gain or a loss? If there is a gain, what does it look like!? If it's a loss, is it really a loss or a gain in a much better way!?

Everything is a gain; what you lose is nothing but a piece of you that was never meant to see that version of you that you are becoming. I wrote this blog while travelling in a metro. Watching people lost, worried, and stressed every day made me self-reflect on what I am doing. I hope it helps you too.
