Limited Period!

Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter

- Mark Twain

If you pay attention enough, you will come to know that even in times like these, people dwell on the limitations and restrictions of age. I believe it's a huge concept in our lives or, as society says, that they decide the age limit, when to do what to do, and vice versa.

Even in the 21st century, people think some things should be done at a precise age, which is doomed. If you don't pass your high school by 18, you will be late; if you don't get success by 26 or 27, you will be failed. All these statements are engraved in people as we see and watch others.

As Mark Twain said, "Age is an issue of mind," and I couldn't agree more. It's all in our heads—the perfect age to do everything. We are the same people who believe imperfect personalities are the greatest, and most of the time we find ourselves contemplating: is this the right age to get started? One of the best examples is in my own house, and I learned that age has no bar. My grandmother, even though she is 81 years old, believes in herself enough and is learning to write and upgrading herself in every way possible.

We are the people who believe in feminism and are still stuck on the fact that our failures and successes have something to do with our perfect age. Yet we stumble upon the fact that women should be married by the age of 25, and they should complete their education by the age of 23.

You are never too old to live your dreams, so there is no better example than Harbhajan Kaur, a 94-year-old Chandigarh resident who began her own business.

Kaur told her daughter Raveena Suri in 2016 that she had been depressed over not having earned a living all these years. Suri, who has been aware of her mother's cooking skills, decided to convince her 90-year-old mother to sell her personal favourite, "besan ki barfi."

James Ivory, screenwriter and co-producer of the theatre play "Call Me by Your Name," managed to make history by becoming the oldest Oscar winner. Ivory, 89, won the Oscar for adapting Andre Aciman's 2007 novel of the same name for the film directed by Luca Guadagnino. This is his first Oscar win, 30 years after his first nomination.

Even in the hardest of times, some people don't stop believing in themselves, and they started their careers when they felt it was right. We all live in the same world where one side of the coin says you should do what you love and the other side decides roles and opportunities according to the race and age we are in.

It's vital to understand that age has no bar. It's just not the right words to say that it's something that people should live by, whether it's the society we live in or the people who are around us. Everyone should be able to do what they want. Everybody has a brain that works until they die. One should always believe and dream until the heart and brain are in the right place. Because it's by chance you live, but it's by choice you work and dream. As it is said by Gabriel Garca Márquez: Age isn't how old you are, but how old you feel.
